Sapienn is an Alt/Rock/Pop band from Glasgow. Originally a solo project by singer/songwriter Scott Simpson. He started making music as Sapienn in 2016 after spending his early years as a guitarist in Glasgow's underground Metal scene. With Sapienn, Scott aimed to challenge himself and focus on songwriting. His debut EP, "Hours Of Despair," was released in October 2016.
Shortly after, Scott began working on his debut album, "A Black Sarcasm," which came out in 2017. The singles "How To Start An Idle Heart" and "Palisades" received airplay on Rianne Thompson and Jim Gellatly's Amazing Radio shows. The album was also considered for the 2018 Scottish Album of the Year awards. In 2019, Scott performed at festivals such as Butefest and Gig At The Grounds.
In 2020, Scott decided to shift his musical direction towards rock. He released his second album, "Cold Logic," which gained more streams and radio play than his previous works. "Cold Logic" received higher praise and became the most successful Sapienn release so far. After performing as a solo act for many years Scott started to see greater potential in the songs, so a new post pandemic version of the project was conceived. Taking influences from Rock, R&B, Folk, Prog, and Funk, Sapienn took the form of a full live band. The band are currently working on a 2025 release.
